A side order of Grannies!.......

In the midst of me creating wedding garlands, wedding party favor box flowers and finishing off ALL of my projects, hubby decides he would like the two cushions that adorn his sofa replaced! They were cushions covered in granny squares but they were made from pure wool Aran and they had started to "bobble" a bit....plus the sizes were not to his satisfaction!!

These below are 3 that I have already created for the 3-seater sofa that I "reside" on so I aim to duplicate them...

So I have gathered my trusty scrap basket of yarn plus some odd balls and got started..

For part of this morning I sat on the terrace in the warm sunshine crocheting away...but I was going to my first Pilates class at 1pm so I couldn't hook for long!

Because it's a cushion cover I decided to go down a hook size to what I would usually use and opted for a 4mm hook and all DK yarn..

What I love about granny squares is the randomness of the colours. I just close my eyes and delve into the yarn basket and see what comes out and that's the next round!

The cushion pads are approx 19-20" so 25 rounds should do it, plus a single crochet border around. Once I have the two sides I will sc them together leaving an opening. I'll then close this with 6-8 small colourful buttons.

I'll post a quick photo once the two are finished...watch this space!

'Till next time...adios!
